HOT DOG RACES NOT SO HOT
Three boats started for Waukegan in light air and fog following Breakfast-At-The-Beach May 18 but none reached Waukegan and the hot dog stand that gives its name to the distance race series. When the skippers agreed to call it a day, Andy Kaiser's Merit 25, Lady J, was closest to Waukegan, followed by Dave Samyn's Colgate 26, Ukama, with Alwin Brunner's J70, Juicy, closest to the start line. The June event was a non-starter with threatening weather on the horizon.
